ABOUT US

AMUL MILK

Amul, short for Anand Milk Union Limited, is one of India’s most iconic and trusted dairy brands. Established in 1946 in Anand, Gujarat, Amul was formed as a response to the exploitation of farmers by middlemen and was the beginning of India’s cooperative dairy movement. Under the leadership of Dr. Verghese Kurien, known as the Father of the White Revolution, Amul played a key role in making India the world’s largest producer of milk. Operated by the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), Amul follows a unique three-tier cooperative model that connects millions of rural dairy farmers directly to the marketplace, ensuring fair prices and empowering them economically. Amul offers a wide range of dairy products including milk, butter, cheese, ghee, ice cream, paneer, and many more, and has become a household name across the country. The brand is also well-known for its clever advertisements and its famous mascot, the Amul Girl. Its popular slogan “Amul – The Taste of India” reflects its deep connection with Indian consumers and its commitment to quality and purity. Beyond business, Amul stands as a symbol of social empowerment, rural development, and self-reliance in India.
